Here's the math that started Status: on a typical multi-zone mini split project, the equipment is less than half the bill. The rest is labor, often thousands of dollars, much of it for work a careful homeowner can do in a weekend with the right product design. The hard part of HVAC was never hanging a unit on a wall; it was the refrigerant work that legally and practically demanded a pro.
So we removed it. Every Status mini split uses factory pre-charged line sets with quick-connect fittings designed to simplify installation. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for mounting, routing and connecting the equipment, and check local requirements before starting work.
